TWO posts in two days! You lucky things!
TODAY I’m going to be sharing with you the epic worksheet bundle that I made for this camp. The biggest of shout-outs must, of course, go to those who wrote and illustrated these books. Every image and the majority of the text on these worksheets was lifted from six Horrible Histories books:
- Awesome Egyptians
- Rotten Romans
- Smashing Saxons
- Terrible Tudors
- Vile Victorians
- Villainous Victorians
TO Terry Deary, Martin Brown , Peter Hepplewhite and Neil Tonge, this years winter camp could not have been done without you! You’ll letting children in on, arguably, the best bits of history for many years to come!
THESE worksheets were a labour of love, with hours spent in front of a computer, condensing the silly number of pages scanned (Camscanner, what an app) into a set of functioning worksheets. I had grand ideas in my mind for this camp, and the worksheets turned out even better than I could have imagined.
THIS camp is about reading, it’s about fun knowledge, and it’s about broadening vocabulary (hence the work book in the previous post). That being said, never knowing what age range and ability your students will be, this camp is also malleable, and all the illustrations make for some excellent colouring pages!
LET’S have a wee look at some of the worksheets, and the download link will be at the end of the post!

IF you are wondering why I picked this particular range of books, it’s because they had the most adaptable picture related content. It just so happens I fairly decent range of history!

THIS is only a fraction of the 30 pages of goodness, but you can see there’s a lot to be done with these worksheets. Maybe even too much, but I like to be over prepared rather than under prepared. I’d rather we didn’t finish everything and had a good time, than finishing all the worksheets and not having anything to fill time – been there before!
WHAT’S really going to challenge their English is when I ask them about similar situations in their own history! I’m intrigued to see what my students are going to teach me during this camp!
ALL in all, if you’re a History geek like me, this is going to suit you down to the ground! I cannot wait to get stuck into this camp with my students – I know they’re going to love it – never mind the fact that a couple of my 6th graders, noticing the box-set of books on my desk, have been asking to borrow them! The power of books never ceases to amaze me!
